A real simple explaination of how to join is : go to the webring hub page and hit the join button. next thing it will give you the code to place on your site . If you decide to use the Webring code then scrip the next step.  If you want to use a banner from this site , get your ID# from the code they give you at webring.com  and place it in the code anywhere you see ID in the codes below.
To copy any code hit the C Key and the Control key at the same time!
then open the program where you edit the website and bring the cursor to the point where you want the banner,
If you are using a program like Frontpage - or any program which does everything automatically  , you should switch to the HTML code button most likely on the bottom of the page.
To Paste the code you must hit the V Key and the Control key at the same time.
Then upload the page again and you are done!!

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS

#1: go to the  webring  homepage and to copy the code of the banner, highlight the code and then hit the control button and the C key at the same time
#2: open the program which you use to alter your website.
If it is similar to frontpage then you should have a html and also normal buttons at the bottom of the page.  You must put the program into html even though you don't understand the code.
#3: put the cursor where you want the webring banner and hit the control button and the V key at the same time; it will paste the banner on your website.
#4: you must edit the code in two spots:
a) where you see ID#, you must enter the website ID# of the webring
b) then you must upload the website again
